Water For Gas – HHO Conversion Kit or DIY Hydrogen Generator – Which Way is The Best?

Posted on 29th June 2010 in All

When it comes to increasing your gas mileage, you can’t go wrong with a hydrogen generator that turns your car into a water burning hybrid. But does a home built hydrogen generator work as well as an HHO conversion kit?
The first thing we must look at is the price. A hydrogen generator kit sells for $1000 and up. A home made DIY hydrogen generator can be built for $65.
Both produce HHO and the home made version can be adapted in the way the current is applied and the rate at which the hydrogen gas is produced to match the output of the commercially available kit.
So, they work equally well and one can be built at a fraction of the cost. The next question is safety.
The most popular home built hydrogen generator uses baking soda as an electrolyte. The producers of the expensive hydrogen generator kits (or more accurately one company in particular) have made the claim that this type of generator produces carbon monoxide gas and is “lethal junk”.
Bold claims to be sure. But is this accurate or purely economically driven to discredit the competition. I built my own hydrogen generator and have been very pleased with the performance but I needed to know the truth.
People will say anything when it comes to money; they will even lie. I decided to write to the president of the company who had put out an article warning people that building their own hydrogen generators could kill them.
Serious statements like this need to be backed up by serious validated data and statistics. I requested such information from this company and the answer I got to my questions and concerns were: “ask any high school chemistry teacher”.
What? No data, no numbers of people harmed by home built hydrogen generators? No scientific data by independent testing facilities? Just this guy’s statement followed up by: “ask a high school chemistry teacher?”
So, I went a different route. First, I had my hydrogen generator tested for carbon monoxide production by a licensed technician. Result, no measurable amount of CO produced.
Second, I contacted a researcher from Gulf Laboratories who has studied and developed this technology for more than 25 years and he said the president of this company made “claims that were irresponsible and laughably ridiculous”.
I then wrote to the person who wrote the top selling do it yourself guide and forwarded a copy of the article claiming that he was “peddling lethal junk to innocent people”.
He said he was aware of the article and that it was so full of mistakes and untruths that it was obvious unsubstantiated ranting. He said he was an actual scientist and that CO is not produced from baking soda and even if it was, a teaspoon mixed in a quart size jar could not produce enough to harm anyone.
Not to mention the fact that the mixture is in a sealed container and located under the hood of your car basically making it impossible to collect any CO at all. But the fact remains the system does not even produce CO.
Back to the president of the company selling the expensive hydrogen generator kit: The president of this company backed up his claims that home made hydrogen generators were lethal by telling me to ask a high school chemistry teacher. I had written back to him with actual research done by actual scientist and independent laboratories and said he needed to provide proof the system was dangerous and that he had leveled serious accusations at otherwise reputable people and I hoped he had something to back up these claims.
His response: “Direct any further correspondence to my lawyer”. Enough said. These statements that my home built hydrogen generator was dangerous were made for economical reasons to discredit his competition and play on people’s fears. Shame on you Mister President. We already have enough people lying to us and prying money out of our pockets.

The Outlook for Premium Handbags in US

Posted on 29th June 2010 in All

The concept of latent demand is rather subtle. The term latent typically refers to something that is dormant, not observable, or not yet realized. Demand is the notion of an economic quantity that a target population or market requires under different assumptions of price, quality, and distribution, among other factors. Latent demand, therefore, is commonly defined by economists as the industry earnings of a market when that market becomes accessible and attractive to serve by competing firms. It is a measure, therefore, of potential industry earnings (P. I. E. ) or total revenues (not profit) if the United States is served in an efficient manner. It is typically expressed as the total revenues potentially extracted by firms. The “market” is defined at a given level in the value chain. There can be latent demand at the retail level, at the wholesale level, the manufacturing level, and the raw materials level (the P. I. E. of higher levels of the value chain being always smaller than the P. I. E. of levels at lower levels of the same value chain, assuming all levels maintain minimum profitability). The latent demand for premium handbags in the United States is not actual or historic sales. Nor is latent demand future sales. In fact, latent demand can be either lower or higher than actual sales if a market is inefficient (i. e. , not representative of relatively competitive levels). Inefficiencies arise from a number of factors, including the lack of international openness, cultural barriers to consumption, regulations, and cartel-like behavior on the part of firms. In general, however, latent demand is typically larger than actual sales in a market. For reasons discussed later, this report does not consider the notion of “unit quantities”, only total latent revenues (i. e. , a calculation of price times quantity is never made, though one is implied). The units used in this report are U. S. dollars not adjusted for inflation (i. e. , the figures incorporate inflationary trends). If inflation rates vary in a substantial way compared to recent experience, actually sales can also exceed latent demand (not adjusted for inflation). On the other hand, latent demand can be typically higher than actual sales as there are often distribution inefficiencies that reduce actual sales below the level of latent demand. As mentioned in the introduction, this study is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved. In fact, all the current products or services on the market can cease to exist in their present form (i. e. , at a brand-, R&D specification, or corporate-image level) and all the players can be replaced by other firms (i. e. , via exits, entries, mergers, bankruptcies, etc. ), and there will still be latent demand for premium handbags at the aggregate level. Product and service offerings, such as replica handbags, replica watches, gucci replica and the actual identity of the players involved, while important for certain issues, are relatively unimportant for estimates of latent demand. In order to estimate the latent demand for premium handbags across the states and cites of the United States, we used a multi-stage approach. Before applying the approach, one needs a basic theory from which such estimates are created. In this case, we heavily rely on the use of certain basic economic assumptions. In particular, there is an assumption governing the shape and type of aggregate latent demand functions. Latent demand functions relate the income of a state, city, household, or individual to realized consumption. Latent demand (often realized as consumption when an industry is efficient), at any level of the value chain, takes place if an equilibrium is realized. For firms to serve a market, they must perceive a latent demand and be able to serve that demand at a minimal return. The single most important variable determining consumption, assuming latent demand exists, is income (or other financial resources at higher levels of the value chain). Other factors that can pivot or shape demand curves include external or exogenous shocks (i. e. , business cycles), and or changes in utility for the product in question. Ignoring, for the moment, exogenous shocks and variations in utility across geographies, the aggregate relation between income and consumption has been a central theme in economics. The figure below concisely summarizes one aspect of problem. In the 1930s, John Meynard Keynes conjectured that as incomes rise, the average propensity to consume would fall. The average propensity to consume is the level of consumption divided by the level of income, or the slope of the line from the origin to the consumption function. He estimated this relationship empirically and found it to be true in the short-run (mostly based on cross-sectional data). The higher the income, the lower the average propensity to consume. This type of consumption function is labeled ‘A’ in the figure below (note the rather flat slope of the curve). In the 1940s, another macroeconomist, Simon Kuznets, estimated long-run consumption functions which indicated that the marginal propensity to consume was rather constant (using time series data). This type of consumption function is shown as ‘B’ in the figure below (note the higher slope and zero-zero intercept). The average propensity to consume is constant.

Wedding Plans: How Do you Choose the Entertainment?

Posted on 29th June 2010 in All, Entertainment

As with anything else, wedding entertainment is a minefield. There are thousands of Wedding DJ’s, Bands, magicians and Singers alike out there, waiting, eagerly to take your money for a service that could be either fantastic, or not so good. The key is this: THOROUGH RESEARCH!

With this particular product, you cannot always see exactly what you are buying until you have actually bought it. You can’t easily see the full product range as there are so many types out there. And when you’ve finally found something you like, can you have it? And will it be reliable enough to show for the biggest day of your life?

Here are a few simple measures you must take when researching and booking your wedding entertainment:

• Use the Internet – You will find some of the largest directories for entertainers this way. Browse various websites for Bands and Singers. Use various search methods and phrases such as “London Wedding Singer” or “Wedding entertainment in Liverpool”, paying attention to sponsored ads that highlight your chosen phrases.

• Take your pick! Once you’ve found something you like the look of you’ll want to find as much information on this service as you can, even before the contact stage. For example if it’s a band, do they have online demos? Images? Testimonials? You want to be at least semi-sure before you hand over your contact details. Narrow it down to say, your favourite 5 singers, before you start any contact.

• Obtain a quote and Availability – Money is always an issue for most of us! I wouldn’t want to spend half of my wedding budget on a band or singer, no matter how good they are, so I’d be on the look out for realistic pricing. You don’t want to book someone who is overly expensive, but you also don’t want to pay £200 for a singer who will tell you “yeah, I’ll sing for you and I’m also a DJ!” When you first contact the entertainer(s), you would first enquire about availability for the date in question, and then a price. Also how long will your entertainer perform for? Performance times can vary, though most singers and bands perform for 1 or 2 x 45 minute sets, depending upon their pricing structure.

• More information – If you can, get more information about their service. Can you visit them live? Do they have more demos? A repertoire? It is always good to meet with someone first, however, remember that this may not be possible for many entertainers who work solely in the private market.

• Book and Secure – This is the most crucial part. Most Bands and Singers will take a deposit or booking fee (anything up to 50% is normal), so you must be completely sure of your choice at this stage. It is always wise to obtain some sort of receipt and a contract of agreement. This way you can be 99% sure that they WILL be turning up on the day and if they don’t, you have the necessary means to be compensated in full.

By this stage you are well on your way to having an unforgettable and entertaining wedding. You can use the remaining time before your wedding day to liaise with the entertainer, making sure that they have all of your particulars and preferences.

Organising wedding entertainment can be stressful, but if you make the right choices early and are prepared to research and book in advance, you will save yourself and your partner at least one set of Wedding worries.

Employment Law – Termination – Involuntary And Without Cause

Posted on 29th June 2010 in All, Skin Care

You have been terminated! – involuntarily and without cause. A former employee often is presented with a severance agreement in exchange for securing certain post-employment benefits. It is important to consider how a severance agreement may affect the rights and benefits of a former employee, many of which may already be contracted to during the course of the employee’s employment. For example, a non-competition agreement may have been previously executed or the former employee may be a participant in an incentive compensation plan containing a forfeiture-for-competition clause. Often, these operative documents are drafted at different times and by different attorneys who may not be aware of the existence of such prior agreements. A hodge-podge of written agreements may result in ambiguities and be open to multiple interpretations – negating the very purpose for which these documents were originally created. The intent of these documents and the very purpose for their creation is to set forth a roadmap in the event of a dispute. If such documents do not achieve their intended purpose, responsibility for ambiguities, and language that may be susceptible to more than one interpretation, lies with the drafter. Thus, in reviewing a severance agreement, a former employee should ascertain whether he/she is signing away any right to an already vested benefit. Careful consideration and negotiation with one’s former employer may be appropriate and necessary.
In the case of a person who has already been terminated, involuntarily, without notice and without cause – there may still be a way to recover benefits that have been potentially “forfeited. ” In New York, courts disfavor non-competition agreements involving employees on public policy grounds. “Our economy is premised on the competition engendered by the uninhibited flow of services, talent and ideas. Therefore, no restriction should fetter an employee’s right to apply to his own best advantage the skills and knowledge acquired by the overall experience of his previous employment. This includes those techniques which are but ‘skillful variations of general processes known to the particular trade. ‘”
It is important to note that under the employee-choice doctrine, a restrictive covenant will generally be enforced without regard to its reasonableness if the employee has been afforded the choice between not competing (and thereby preserving his benefits) or competing (and thereby risking forfeiture). This is the underlying premise of forfeiture-for-competition clauses found in incentive compensation plans and applies to an employee terminating his/her employment relationship, voluntarily. If it is the employer who has terminated the employment relationship, involuntarily and without cause, then New York Courts will examine the reasonableness of the restrictions of the forfeiture-for-competition clause.
Under a reasonableness analysis, a court must first determine whether the employer has a legitimate interest to protect, and whether this interest will protect the employer from economic injury caused by “unfair or illegal” conduct by the former employee. Thus, the agreements may be enforced “to the extent necessary (1) to prevent an employee’s solicitation or disclosure of trade secrets, (2) to prevent an employee’s release of confidential information, or (3) in those cases where the employee’s services to the employer are deemed special or unique. ” Courts will then balance the employer’s interests against the extent to which the non-competition agreement is unreasonable in “time, space or scope. ” In other words, “such [restrictive] covenants will be enforced only [to the extent it is] reasonably limited [in time and geographic scope], and then only to the extent necessary to protect” the employer’s legitimate interests.
It is important to remember that, in all likelihood, a former employer is not interested in continuing to distribute payments to a former employee after his/her employment has been terminated. When negotiating a severance agreement, it is important to ascertain the effect of the operative clauses on the rights to benefits previously contracted to and with a now former employer. Taking the appropriate course of action to assure receipt of all benefits due, will avoid unnecessary concern and, hopefully eliminate the possibility of a long and protracted legal dispute.

1920 Review (2010)

Posted on 29th June 2010 in All

Both these concepts have one thing in common – the soul is always the tortured one, and the people are ones at fault. Well, if I tell you that there is a Bollywood movie that actually is different, what would you say? – I’d say 1920. Cast:
Rajneesh Duggal as Arjun Singh Rathod
Adah Sharma as Lisa Singh Rathod
Anjori Alagh as Gayatri Devi
Raj Zutshi as the Priest
Indraneil Sengupta as Mohan Kant, the British Indian armyman who betrayed his revolting pro-independence military regiment.
Dilip Thadeshwar
Amita Bishnoi
Vipin Sharma as the caretaker of the haunted palace
Sri Vallabh Vyas as the Doctor
Amin Hajee as M. K. , the head of the haunted palace
Ashish Pradhan
Rushitaa Pandya
Smita Hai
Rakhi Sawant in an item song Bichua
Plot: 1920 tells us the story of two lovers from different religions breaking the caste barrier and living in the Bombay of 1920. After some happy times together, the husband, who is an architect, is sent to a village in India, Palanpur for the reconstruction of a old castle into a grand hotel. Their life takes a turn for the worse in the castle, with the woman soon beginning to have weird experiences and is finally bed ridden one day, forcing the man to embark on a truth searching journey and winning his lady love back.
Review: 1920 cannot be considered to be a fresh concept from any angle, but it is interesting to see that the story writer has tried his level best to bring some spice to the common cut and dry ‘good soul dies and has to take revenge’ formula that has been prevalent in Bollywood since the times of Madhumati and Ramsay Brothers. Simply put, the movie is old wine in new bottle, but the new bottle is quite classy, as well as the companion food is very novel and exciting. The two actors have do not much to write home about, but both show promise and can become actors in their own right if they make the right choices.
Adah Sharma as Lisa Singh Rathod of course gets the meatier of the roles and she performs it with elan. She is positively spooky in the horror sequences, but of course, that also depends a lot on the direction. As a viewer, the highpoints of the movie are that the movie makers actually take an effort to say that a person getting possessed is not completely impossible, and that even mainstream religion has experienced possessions and exorcisms.
It was refreshing to see a Catholic priest coming to the aid and not some “Nirankari Baba’. Another interesting aspect was the inclusion of the Baphomet, which says that the film maker has actually done some research in the world of the occult. All in all, the movie did not look kiddish and made one actually think that something is amiss. One another important scene is the one where the priest and the doctor argue and both come up with perfectly logical reasons for the behavior of the girl. It was very good that the director did not go overboard to oversimplify the fact that the protagonist stands between two choices – one of religion and the other of medical science.
The movie has one scene which you would find revolting, horrific or amusing, whichever trail your train takes – the scene where Lisa is eating a live animal, hunched like a cat. Of course, there is no explanation to this, but it’d be good if the story tellers had made an endeavor to tell us why a possessed soul would eat or eats dead animals. The movie still depends on creaky furniture and impossible camera angles to give you the freaks, but one advantage that the movie has above all is that the castle is so huge that it is indeed spooky even in broad daylight, let alone the night time.
All in all, 1920 has given Bollywood its first badass soul. Let’s see where it goes from here.
